Jiao Yanan

Jiao Yanan, female, Lecturer, Ph.D., studied at the School of Literature and Journalism majoring in Journalism, and at the dual-degree class of the College of International Education of Shandong University from 2003 to 2008. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2010, she graduated from Shandong University with a master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL). In 2016, she graduated from Shandong University with a doctoral degree in Language and Culture Communication. Her main research areas are communication theory, language and cultural communication, and the construction of Confucius Institutes.

Teaching experience: She has been engaged in TCFL since 2017, mainly teaching advanced audio-visual Chinese, primary and intermediate oral Chinese and Chinese pronunciation correction. During her overseas experiences, she taught Chinese traditional culture experience courses and local Chinese teacher training courses.

Overseas experience: From 2007 to 2008, she taught at Nawamintrachinuthit Triam Udom Nomklao High School in Bangkok, Thailand. From 2013 to 2015, she taught at the Confucius Institute in Brittany, France.

Academic Achievements: She has published many academic papers such as: Crossing Medium, Returning to the Humanities - Regis Debray’s Medium Research Thought and Its Subject Value ("Chinese Journal of Journalism & Communication"), Medium Literacy and TCFL teachers’ Professional Development (Proceedings Paper on the Proceedings of the 11th International Conference on Chinese Language Teaching), Research and Development of Teaching Standards of the Japanese International Exchange Foundation - Taking the "JF Japanese Education Standards" as an Example (Proceedings Paper on the 2nd "Construction and Innovation of International Chinese Textbook" International Seminar).

The research projects Chaired and participated in include: Study on the Medium Strategy of Shandong Cultural and Creative Industry under the Background of New Media (provincial social science project, chaired), Research on Confucius Institute's Cultural Function and Social Value (Ministry of Education Project, Participated in). The monographs compiled include: Confucius Institute Research and Development Report 2017 (the Commercial Press). Teaching materials participated in: "New HSK six-level mock set", etc.
