Cai Yan, female, Associate Professor, Ph.D., Master Tutor, graduated from the School of Journalism of Shandong University with a Doctoral degree of Arts in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics. She is mainly engaged in the study of the theory and practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL), education and educational psychology.
Teaching experience: She has been engaged in TCFL since 2003, mainly offering language courses such as intensive reading, speaking, listening, reading, writing for international students; has undertaken teaching work of the intensified teaching mode of Chinese Preparatory Department of the College, mainly offering courses such as comprehensive Chinese, audio-visual Chinese; has undertaken teaching training courses for the teacher groups from South Korea, Mongolia and Singapore who are studying in China, and for the project groups from Korea, Thailand, and the United States; teaching "Educational Psychology" for undergraduates; and teaching "Second Language Acquisition" for postgraduates.
Overseas experience: From February 2006 to December 2008, she went to Dongseo University in South Korea to teach Chinese.
Academic Achievements: The research projects undertaken include: "Comparative Study of Student Clubs in Chinese and Korean Universities" (Shandong Social Science Planning Project, presided), "Research on Chinese Classroom Environment for International Students in China" (Shandong University Independent Innovation Project), "Study on the Metacognitive Mechanism of Preparatory Chinese Learners Studying in China" (Shandong Education Science "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" 2013 Planning Project), "Investigation and Research on Chinese Classroom Learning Environment for International Students in China" (Shandong Young Teachers Education and Teaching Research Project). Research projects participated in include: "Study on Spoken Chinese Blocks Based on Second Language Teaching" (Humanities and Social Sciences Project of the Ministry of Education, third), "The Usage of Extroversive Chinese Learning Dictionary and Research on Nationalized Demand" (Shandong Provincial Social Science Planning Project, second), "Study on Study Strategies for International Preparatory Students Studying in China" (Shandong Social Science Planning Research Project, third), "Research on Intercultural Adaptation of International Students from Universities in Shandong Province" (Shandong Social Science Planning Project, fourth).
