Liu Ying

Liu Ying, female, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Master Tutor

In 1998, she graduated from the Chinese Department of Shandong University. In 2001, she graduated from the School of Literature and Journalism of Shandong University with a Master of Arts degree in Chinese Language and Literature. In 2009, she graduated from the School of Literature and Journalism of Shandong University majoring in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics and received a doctoral degree of Arts. Her main research areas are: theory and practice of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages; children's language acquisition.


Teaching experience: She has been engaged in teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL) since 2001. She mainly teaches intensive reading, speaking, listening, reading and other basic language courses and HSK guidance and other optional language courses for international students; teaches "linguistics and second language teaching principles", "Introduction to General Linguistics", "Chinese new dynamics" and " Case Analysis of Chinese Language Teaching " for undergraduates; teaches "Introduction to Chinese Linguistics", "School of Second Language Teaching Methodology", "Chinese Teaching Methodology", "Teaching Design and Case Analysis" for graduate students; teaches "Chinese Character and Chinese Character Teaching Methodology" for overseas Chinese teacher training; teaches the "Phonetics and Chinese Character Teaching Methodology" for part-time teacher training.


Overseas experience: From 2009 to 2010, she went to Jiaquan University (Gengyuan University), South Korea to teach basic language courses. In June 2013, as a NOCFL expert, she went to the Confucius Institute at the National University of Mongolia to train local Chinese teachers. In July 2015 she went to The Confucius Institute at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to teach the course of "Theory and Practice of TCFL".


Scientific research projects: Survey on Extroversion Chinese Learning Dictionary Usage and Nationalized Demand (Shandong Provincial Social Science Planning Key Project, presided); Case Study on Chinese Children's Early Vocabulary Syntax Acquisition Based on Corpus (Youth Fund Project of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, presided); Case Study of Chinese Children's Language Development in Their Early Period (Shandong University's Independent Innovation Fund Project, presided); Study on Abroad Exploration of Relevant Knowledge of Chinese Characters and Phrases of Confucianism——Research on Common Chinese Characters and Phrases of Confucianism in Japanese and Korean Second Language Education Field (Independent Innovation Fund Project of Shandong University, presided); Dictionary of Spoken Chinese (NOCFL Project, second); " Strategy Research on Chinese-English Translation of Qilu Tourism Text" (Shandong Provincial Humanities and Social Sciences Project, No. 2).


Academic Achievements: She published a monograph Study on Early Childhood Vocabulary Acquisition; published many academic papers such as Environmental Language Input and Children's Language Acquisition Correlation, Case Study of Chinese Children's Early Language Development, Multi-dimensional Perspective of Word Ambiguity, On the Conventionality of Language--Taking "an Empty Hole Invites the Wind" as an Example", TCFL Should Make Full Use of the Role of Context--Interpretation and Test of Contextual Meaning of Words; and published the textbook Intensive Course of MHK (Listening Volume) (co-author).
