Kong Zi

Kong Zi, female, Associate Professor, Doctor. She is currently the deputy director of the Office of Confucius Institute at Shandong University and the vice dean of the College of International Education. She graduated from the College of International Education of Shandong University with a Ph.D. in Language and Culture Communication. Her main research interests are language and cultural communication, Confucius Institute research, and social capital research.


Teaching experience: She offers "International Communication of Chinese Culture (Bilingual)" and "Chinese Culture (English)" for undergraduates, and offers courses such as "Chinese Culture and Intercultural Communication", "Experimental Culture Teaching" and "Specialized English" for graduate students.


Overseas experience: She went to the Confucius Institute at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the Confucius Institute in Brittany, France, Leiden University in the Netherlands, Chungnam University in South Korea, and Dongseo University in South Korea.


Academic Achievements: She published the monograph Social Capital Research of the Confucius Institute, participated in the compilation of Confucius Institute Research Annual Report 2017, Confucius Institute Research Annual Report 2018, and served as the deputy editor of Language and Cultural Communication Research (Second Series); published many papers such as Organizational Social Capital Accumulation Model in Language International Promotion, The Role of Social Capital in the Resource Allocation of Confucius Institutes, Construction of Cultural Symbols in Intercultural Context, Collection and Diffusion of Social Resources--On the Social Functions of Confucius Institutes, Preliminary Study on the Cultivation of International Chinese Teachers' Social Network Construction Ability; chaired many academic projects such as the Shandong Provincial Social Science Planning Research Project, NOCFL and Project of TCSOL Research Subject, Shandong University Independent Innovation Fund Project, Shandong University Education and Teaching Reform Research Project; won the " Cultural Innovation Award of Shandong Province" and " Second Prize in Teaching Achievement of Shandong University".
