Ning Jiming, Ph. D in Economics, Professor, Ph. D Supervisor, is currently the Director of the Confucius Institute Headquarters / Chinese Traditional Culture Research and Experience Base of Shandong University, the Director of the Research Center of the Confucius Institute at Shandong University, the Director of the Center for Language and Cultural Communication at Shandong University, the Executive Director of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association, and a special expert at the Confucius Institute Headquarters. Besides, he was once a member of the National Supervisory Committee for Master's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (2007-2016), and Dean of the College of International Education at Shandong University (2000-2018).
His main research areas are language and cultural communication, Confucius Institute and external communication, teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, language economy and so on. He presided over projects both at national and provincial levels, undertook the overall planning and design tasks (chief expert) of the Chinese Traditional Culture Research and Experience Base of Shandong University and the Confucius Institute Headquarters Experience Base (in Qufu), and compiled the Confucius Institute Research Annual Report (2018, 2017, 2016).
