With the support of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) under the Ministry of Education, the Mongolian National University Confucius Institute Winter Camp was successfully held at Shandong University from January 5 to January 18. The opening ceremony was attended by Zhang Xiaohui from the Office of International Chinese Language Education at Shandong University, and Balgan Odgerel, the Mongolian team leader from the Confucius Institute at Mongolian National University, who both delivered speeches. Associate Professors Zhu Junli and Dai Lihua, along with faculty representatives from the College of International Education, also participated in the event. A total of 20 students and teachers from the Confucius Institute at Mongolian National University took part in the winter camp.

Zhang Xiaohui, on behalf of Shandong University, warmly welcomed the Mongolian students and teachers. In his speech, he highlighted the strong friendship between Shandong University and Mongolian National University, emphasizing their joint efforts in building a cultural and educational exchange platform between China and Mongolia. He expressed hope that the Mongolian students would take full advantage of this winter camp experience, strengthening mutual understanding and becoming "little ambassadors" for cultural exchange between the two countries. Odgerel thanked Shandong University for its thoughtful arrangements, introduced the structure of the winter camp and its participants, and encouraged the students to gain knowledge, broaden their horizons, and become promoters of language and culture.

Leveraging Shandong University’s strengths in humanities and its geographical advantage in Qilu culture, the teaching team from CIE designed a customized curriculum incorporating language enhancement courses, cultural experience sessions, and immersive learning activities. The program covered twelve themes including "Contemporary China," "Spring Water Culture," "Traditional Culture Experience," "Green China," "Study in China," and "Daily Travel." These topics showcased China’s rich cultural heritage and rapid economic and technological advancements, allowing participants to experience traditional Chinese culture in an immersive setting while exploring its inheritance and development. Additionally, through interactive discussions, the program fostered mutual trust and understanding between Chinese and Mongolian students and teachers.

The winter camp not only served as a testament to the friendship between China and Mongolia but also represented a significant step toward deepening cultural exchanges and mutual understanding between young people from both countries. The participants expressed their enthusiasm for future opportunities to learn more about China and its traditional culture, and looked forward to further interactions and exchanges, continuing to strengthen the bonds of friendship between China and Mongolia.
